Professional SAS Programming Shortcuts Over 1000 ways to improve your SAS programs eBook Rick Aster
This is the only other SAS book you should have on your desk whether your SAS experience is measured in days or decades (the other is Mr. Aster's SAS Programmer's Pocket Reference). My only beef: with all the new options and procs in SAS 9.1 and 9.2, these two books are going out of date. Of course, all the information is still useful, but in some cases you might find an easier way using the newest SAS features.
I'm hoping for an update edition, but until then, I will refer to the current edition.

Professional SAS Programming Shortcuts Over 1000 ways to improve your SAS programs eBook Rick Aster Reviews
Has some great tips and examples for doing some things fast. The code samples are good, concise, and point you in the right direction even if they don't show you a direct solution.
I agree with the previous reviewer, especially on the point that the book could benefit SAS beginners, not just the more seasoned programmers it is clearly organized, and makes it easy to look up the topic of interest.
It is a book with a lot of good tips. It should be remined that some programming code is only for the old version of SAS such as Version 6, but not for the latest version such as Version 9.3 or Version 9.4. People should know it better that SAS has transformed itself from a programming tool to be an easy to use with drag and drop funtions. Of course, SAS users still like to tailor their own codes. There are a lot of new procedures SAS users should know them better.
It was an excellent item. This came as it was shown at . This is book a very nice book for following shortcut ways in SAS programming.
Great book, alot of useful tips/tricks for any level. Also clear and easy to follow.
I have learned lots of little tricks from this book and recommended to other SAS programmers. I have about 3 years of programming experience and this covered some techniques for tasks that we not obvious to me. I enjoyed his other book as well.
I'm a student in a PhD/doctorate program where we do a lot of statistics and data analysis using SAS, R, and also STATA. This book was not included in the materials, but after reading comments others have left behind I went ahead and bought it. I've skimmed throughout the entire book and its topics and, although I haven't yet put the book to use, it was easy to see that the tools and the information are very well organized, and that the scope that it covers is quite ample, meaning it covers a lot and does so concisely and in a way that it's easy to find. As others have commented, I'll probably have the book at hands-reach throughout the entire Spring semester, and probably a lot longer. It'll probably complement anything I'm working on, and so I highly recommend it.
