A Basset Hound named Homer learns the ways of the human world when Patty and Mark, a beautician and a musician, adopt him. Together, the three form a small nuclear family. Homer keeps his nose to the ground, his eyes open, and his long ears tuned. While nothing goes unobserved by Homer, much of what he learns of the human world puzzles him greatly.
At Patty’s beauty shop, Homer sits under the sink and witnesses the customers’ dismay. Can Patty make them beautiful? Don’t they know even a pug is beautiful in its own way? While Mark composes, Homer notices Mark’s insecurity. Why can’t he write music like Chopin? It all sounds like music to Homer’s ears.
Still, they are happy together, until Patty reveals a heartbreaking secret to Homer, one that requires Homer’s creative action to keep his world intact.

Clever, clever, CLEVER! And, hilarious! The entire time I was reading it,I felt like I WAS Homer: Seeing life and his humans from a dog's perspective.
The reader really gets a sense of how our pets perceive themselves as
family members. The doggie commentary on human foibles is priceless.
Home just isn't home without a Homer.

Home Sweet Homer A Basset Hound View edition by Anne Carlson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This was a cute, quick read. Very enjoyable. Hope to hear more about Home.
I'd like to hear more about Homer's adventures. I set my kindle to a male Australian reading it. Too funny.
I have not read this as it was a present for my sisters birthday. It looked like a good story though.
A terrific story, well told from Homer's point of view. I too would love to read more of Homer's adventures with Human Doings, er, Beings. A bargain at twice the price and I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys a fun read.
This is a cute little book about a sweet baby basset. It was an engaging story and a quick read. The cover alone is adorable! They could have used a better editor as there are some grammatical errors, but nothing that interrupted the story's flow.
This is a short read but will make you laugh over and over. It makes you think is this really the way that dogs see our world? I know that when I love on my German Shepard I find myself taking a little more time and not just patting his head but taking the time to really love him.
Wonderful story and a very entertaining read. I'm not a basset Hound owner, nor even much of a dog person, but I still enjoyed it and would imagine that those types would like it even more. I love the perspective on human life - insightful and very clever.
